Magleby's Fresh

About Magleby's Fresh
Magleby's Fresh was opened by Richard Parkinson and Ken Palmer on January 1, 1999 to fill the void between formal restaurants and fast food. M.F. aim's to be healthier than traditional fast food.

In the restaurant you'll notice references to "Doc." (as in "Doc says ... Take it Home" and "Doc's Truck Stop Special" menu item). The original Magleby's Restaurant was started by Richard Parkinson's father, David "Doc" Parkinson, a retired dentist. The vitality status of "Doc" (alive or dead) is unknown.

Staffing

The first person we encountered when we entered into Magleby's Fresh was our cashier, who we will call James. He was friendly and polite, offering us a lot of background information to his career with Magleby's, giving us the inside scoop on the treatment of Magleby's laborers. He stated that he came to Magleby's Fresh because he needed a change from what regular Magleby's was offering him. He stated that they were "cheap" towards their employee's; including the fact that he was not making time-and-a-half on Memorial Day. Averting his eyes, he then said "that's probably more than you want to know".

Judicious Judy

However, we did not find that Magleby's treated its customers cheaply, unless you are talking about cost. Not only was their menu reasonably priced (menu recreated below), but they also honored a half-off coupon, making our meal come to a total of $5.58! I ordered French toast, and noticed that there are trade offs between the two restaurants. Kneaders includes strawberries in their cost, but Magleby's puts three pieces of crispy french toast on your plate to start with. Greg ordered the Breakfast Burrito, which filled him up perfectly.

Menu - Breakfast
Pappy Pancakes all you can eat $5.19 fruit and cream extra $2.99
French Toast all you can eat $5.19 fruit and cream extra $2.99
Omelets Your Way
$6.99 combined any number of the 6 to 8 items to build the perfect omelet!
Breakfast Burrito
$6.99

Candy Machine

There was a really cool candy machine with an interesting design.

Dwight Schrute Sighting

While waiting for our food, we noticed a figure who looked like Dwight Schrute off of The Office. We realized that it wasn't really Dwight when he responded to the name "Alan" when his food was called.

Restroom Review

The friendly staff at Magleby's Fresh must have known we were coming because the restroom really clean. I did, however, try to be as critical as possible, so I took a snapshot of paint on the outlet cover.

Conclusion

We highly recommend Mabley's Fresh as a breakfast destination - especially if you can find a 2-for-1 coupon!

It's about time we got another review, my breakfasts have been limited purely to IHOP.
