onion lover

Remember how Auburn loves bags? Well, this is her pink pail. She also loves carrying this around. Usually I fill it with lego's, teething rings, cheerio's....but the other day Auburn decided that onions were the "thing" to carry for the day. Here she is with her onion pail:

I feel like the luckiest Mom! Who would have thought my baby would be happy with a $1 pail and a onion all day?

I didn't think we'd sell another...

Jess and I were at a Dick's sports store picking out a world cup soccer jersey for her cousin. We looked at the jerseys for a few minutes and Jess, begin the American that she is, decided on getting a USA jersey. Just then, an employee walked by and remarked, "I didn't think we'd sell another French jersey..." We quickly put the jersey back and decided to go for Argentina. It was hilarious! In retrospect, I did think the rooster on the French jersey looked an awful lot like the Kellogg's Cornflakes mascot, which I thought was weird.

Ode to Greg, the Daddy

My first memory of Auburn is of Greg holding her when I "came to" from the sedative they gave me. I remember looking up and he was just sitting next to me, holding Auburn. It was so special, and I am so grateful my Mom got a shot of this first meeting. Greg and Auburn instantly bonded.

Greg is such a good Dad. He takes time to play with Auburn, he will change her diaper, he makes up songs for her....
...he feeds her, writes in her journal, rocks her to sleep. He checks on her at night, then he will come back into our room and say "she's so cute" EVERY time!

Look at how cute they are together. Just two pea's in a pod.
I love you honey! You're a great Dad.

i love hp

I love Harry Potter. Did you know that? Not the character, but the movies. I love them. Sadly, it's all almost over. With only 156 days left until the first Deathly Hallows movie comes out, we only have one year of anticipation left people! (The second Deathly Hallows movie comes out in July 2011)

Filming has officially ended, which I was grateful that CNN pointed out to me, otherwise I might have not found out until tomorrow. Just one more thing to check off of my "signs that the Harry Potter era is ending" list.

Bags

Auburn latest cutest thing she does is carry bags around. If I leave my purse out, or a shopping bag anything with a handle on it she will pick up and carry around with her all day.

because i love to read....

Heads up family and friends! Both Barnes and Noble AND Borders have summer reading programs with FREE books involved! Sign up your kid (ages 12 and under) and if they complete the required amount they get a free book at the end of the summer.

From what I can see, Barnes and Noble requires 8 books, and Borders requires 10. Might as well sign up for both! (click on links to take you to the sites)

Thanks, Janine and Henry, for the heads up!

Lake Powell

All of us loaded up onto the three flotation devices we had and rowed across the bay to the island on the other side. There was a little hike to an arch and cave about a half mile away. Here we are standing under the arch.
Greg was so nice to stay with Auburn on the boat, who was acting sort of tired. She fell asleep waiting on the boat for us to come back. There were lots of beautiful flower on the hike. The weather was perfect for hiking.

We were surprised at how much Auburn loved the water. The water was cold, even for me, but Auburn is a champ and would just hang out with us in the water. She looks so cute in her swimsuits and hats and glasses, we just loved dressing her up to swim!

This Auburn with her Warner Grandmary. They sure love each other! Grandma Warner was so nice and took care of Auburn often, along with other family members, so that Greg and I could do fun things together. Auburn even got Cheetos's from one of her generous friends. YUM!

I never got to meet Erik, Michelle's husband, but from what I hear he was a stellar billy-bob-er. I was happy to participate in the reincarnation of billy-bob-ing at lake powell. I also love watching the kids baluga - but that didn't happen much this year because of the water temperature.

On our teeth is color changing nail polish. YUM! It took forever to get it off. We also used the nail polish on our nails. :)

One of the best parts of Lake Powell this year was our dance on Friday night. It's a new addition to our Lake Powell party week, and one that Greg and I are motioning to keep. We started out by teaching the kids one of the EFY counselor dances (Ba-ha men 1), and then just danced the night away after that.
