NOW I feel grateful....

Do you ever have those moments where you say "oh yea, I AM grateful"? I have had that moment this morning. After an eleven hour car ride back from Utah, where my baby threw up and our car stopped working at the same time I can say, this morning, now that it's over, that I am grateful.

My car still smells like throw up, and it still isn't fixed, and we still don't even have the bill for the total, but I am grateful. I am grateful it wasn't super-too-late to call my Dad, and Greg's Dad, and ask "what just happened to our car". (Thanks Dad for getting up and taking my call!) And I am grateful that our cell phones were charged and had reception. I am grateful that when Auburn threw up I didn't panic and pull to the side of the interstate, but rather the truck pull out a mile up the road. I am grateful for Curtis Garcia from New Mexico that helped us out by jump starting our car with his truck. I am grateful to finally be home and able to fix and clean my car so that I can go buy some milk tonight. I am grateful for food storage, because without it we would have to wait until after I went to the store, after Greg got home with the car, to eat.

I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the small and big things that helped us on our way, with all the big and small people along the way.

Dance Party!

Last Friday Jess and I hosted a "Back to School" dance party. 47 people came. It was a lot of fun!

I spent a lot of my free time the week prior rigging up the disco ball and readying the music. I bought a boom box from DI. I brought it home and the cd player didn't work. No biggie, I'll just plug an ipod directly into the aux inputs, right? Well, those didn't work either. So I finally went back to a thrift store to buy another boom box and found a cheap tape adapter which, fortunately, worked in the first boom box.

Since the cd player was broken, I extracted the motor from the disc changer and used it to spin the disco ball.
