Pumpkin Mania!

Thanksgiving brought our house some pumpkin mania! Greg and I each made a pumpkin dish. Greg made Pumpkin Gnocchi, using the recipe off of Becky's Project Domestication blog. He did such a good job of rolling all the individual gnocchi, I was so impressed with how much time he spent on this dish.

My pumpkin dish was a pumpkin cheese cake. It was SO GOOD that we don't have any pictures of the finished product. It had a sour cream and pecan topping.

YumYumYum! Thank you Des and Chuck for the spring form pan & cheesecake cookbook!

Happy pumpkin loving Thanksgiving!

The Stats

It would be a lie to say that Auburn's four month check up was a surprise; we found out that she's smart, big, and a flirt. Here are the stats:

27.5 inches long - 97% for height
16.6 pounds - somewhere in the middle
1 half tooth - two months ahead of the game
rolling over both ways - still two months ahead
flirted with the doctor 90% of the time - it's her luxurious eyelashes

We started her on rice cereal today............

..............and I'm not sure how in love with it she is..............

.......but all kids act like that at first!

Conclusion: no matter how "advanced" she is, rice cereal still tastes the same going down.

Unexpected Life

Jennifer Brinkerhoff, who has helped in many ways with Hope Arising, has just had an article published here. It's a wonderful tribute to what you can do for those in Ethiopia through the way you live your life.

I just love LOVE Jen. She has been so good to us and to Auburn. She has a mothering heart and it shows in the precious way she treats little Auburn. I hope you'll get a quick minute to read her article.
